FileDeck Embed

Terms of Service

In effect from 5 August 2026.

These terms are the agreement between you and FileDeck (“we”, “us”) for FileDeck Embed — the hosted document library at filedeck.co. Creating an account means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind it.

The service

FileDeck Embed hosts document libraries and serves them inside other websites through an embed snippet. What each plan includes is listed on the pricing page, which forms part of these terms.

Your account

You need an account to create a library. Keep your credentials secure, give us an email address you actually read — it is how we reach you about trials, billing and outages — and take responsibility for what happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old.

Trial

New libraries begin on a 14-day trial with the full feature set and 250 MB of storage. No card is required. When the trial ends the library stops serving embeds until you choose a plan; nothing is deleted at that moment, and your content stays available in the dashboard.

Plans, payment and renewal

Refunds

Because every plan is preceded by a free trial of the complete product, we do not offer routine refunds for time already elapsed. If something went genuinely wrong — a fault on our side, or a duplicate charge — get in touch and we will put it right.

Your content

Documents, categories and everything else you upload remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store, process, index and transmit your content so that it can be searched, previewed, downloaded and embedded as you have configured. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload, and for the lawfulness of publishing it. Do not put anything in a library you are not entitled to distribute.

Acceptable use

You may not use FileDeck Embed to:

Storage and fair use

Each plan carries a storage allowance. Uploads that would exceed it are refused rather than silently billed. We may apply reasonable rate limits to public endpoints to protect the platform, and we will tell you before taking action on an account whose usage is causing a problem.

Availability

We aim for continuous availability and monitor the platform, but FileDeck Embed is provided without a contractual uptime guarantee at this stage. Maintenance that we expect to be disruptive will be announced in advance where practical.

Suspension and termination

You may delete a library or your entire account at any time from the dashboard; deletion is immediate and irreversible. We may suspend or terminate an account for non-payment, for a breach of these terms, or where we are legally required to. Except in cases of serious or unlawful misuse, we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first.

Getting your data out

You can export your account’s content and records at any time from the dashboard, in machine-readable form, without contacting us and without it being contingent on your account being in good standing. Details are in the privacy policy.

AI features

The AI plan runs on an API key you supply, so the model spend and the provider relationship are yours. Document text is sent to that provider to build the index and answer questions, and their terms govern that processing. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete — treat them as an aid, never as authoritative, and never as legal, medical or financial advice.

Other platforms

Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer and the other platforms we document are not affiliated with us and do not endorse us. Naming them describes where the embed works, nothing more.

Changes

We may update the service and these terms. For changes that materially affect your rights we will give reasonable notice by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, the service is provided “as is”, and our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data.

You remain responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you upload. FileDeck Embed is a publishing platform, not a backup service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections you have under the law of your own country.
